Kathleen Cohen, The Collaboratorium, Immersive & Experience Strategist


Kathleen Cohen is an XR immersive and experience strategist with over 20+ years building both user and guest experiences. Kathleen's background includes working as a Creative, as well as a Producer/Sr. Producer for DreamWorks Interactive, IBM Centers for Innovation and Disney Parks & Resorts Online. Kathleen also had a brief 4-year stint in civic engagement as the Vice President of Digital Innovation & Integration for the National Constitution Center, helping to tell the contemporary story of the U.S. Constitution while also contributing to U.S. Heritage Tourism with a commitment to UX Accessibility for the persons with disabilities community.

This past January, Kathleen was the Jury Chair for EuropaPark’s 2nd annual Aurea Awards - a global awards conference showcasing excellence in AR/VR. Currently, Kathleen’s consultancy, the Collaboratorium focuses on immersive, disruptive and exponential tech, AI/ML, XR and spatial computing projects as it relates to virtual beings / digital twins inside themed attractions, location based entertainment, gaming, product development and immersive storytelling narratives.

Kathleen’s interest is the near future of man+machine and the human transformation and expansion supporting it. Kathleen and her team are currently building a Virtual Human Index. Her latest talk is called: Meet Your Digital Twin.


FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and MFG Baden-Wuerttemberg, taking place in cooperation with the VES Visual Effects Society and ACM SIGGRAPH. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Days (APD), a joint venture with the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS).
