Jeremy Clapin, DirectorBack
Jérémy Clapin studied at the Paris École des Arts Décoratifs. Graduating in 1999, he began working as a graphic artist/illustrator as well as directing advertisements and music videos. At the same time, he began directing animation shorts that progressively lead him to a leading position in contemporary animation. BACKBONE TALE (Une Histoire Vertébrale) in 2004, SKHIZEIN in 2008 which obtained unprecedented success (over 90 prizes in festivals including those of Cannes Annecy and Clermont. Then came PALMIPEDARIUM in 2012, produced by Papy3D Produtions which he joined as an associate.
In 2012, he started work on his first feature-length animation film, I LOST MY BODY (J’ai perdu mon corps), produced by Xilam. In 2019, this became the first feature-length animation film to win the Grand Prix de la Semaine de la Critique at the Cannes Film Festival. The film, now bought by NETFLIX, is having an exceptional career: prix du public and the Cristal for feature films at the Annecy Festival, awards from major groups of critics in the USA, 3 ANNIE awards, a nomination for the 2020 Oscars and 2 Cesar.
