Cristobal Leon, Filmmaker and ArtistBack
Cristóbal León (1980, Chile) works in animation films, installations, paintings and sculptures among other media. He studied at the Universidad Católica de Chile and UDK - Berlin. Between 2009 and 2011 he participated in the residency program De Ateliers in Amsterdam. Since 2007 he works in collaboration with Joaquín Cociña, forming the duo León & Cociña. For the production of their films they combine different techniques such as photography, drawing, sculpture and performance.. Their work has been exhibited in several museums and venues, among which are Whitechapel Gallery, Guggenheim New York, the Venice Biennale and Art Basel. They premiered their first feature film "La Casa Lobo" at the 68 Berlinale 2018, where it received the Caligari Award. He lives and works in Santiago de Chile.
