EURYDIKE – Art Installation. Music Theatre. Real Life Game. Mixed Reality Experience.

The Mixed Reality Experience EURYDIKE combines the potential of visual arts, music theatre, film, games and hightech in a virtual-analogue world to challenge current gender topics – explicitly the role of women in our hightech society. An accessible, interactive room installation – a "play mobile" on tour – as haptic venue to be explored with all senses, is therefore enhanced by Augmented and Virtual Reality technologies as well as 3D sound.

Equipped with a protective suit and VR glasses, visitors dive into a retrofuturistic universe between "Kubricks 2001: A Space Odyssey and Clockwerk Orange" (Süddeutsche Zeitung), in which the boundaries between reality and fiction become blurred. Through the active exploration of an unknown world, a silent, speechless place is made to sound: EURYDIKE is given a voice. Each "singleplayer" alone (!) creates his or her own very personal, exclusive aesthetic-musical experience and thereby becomes an interactive part and a "play figure": The visitors become Orpheus, the environment EURYDIKE.

EURYDIKE combines sucessfully an international audience from high culture to mainstream (ages: 18 – 75 years!) that playfully deals with a serious content. EURYDIKE was nominated for the German Computer Game Award ("Best Production 2018") and the German Developer Award ("Best Innovation 2018") recently was awarded with the SXSW Creative Tech Grant.

Crossing boundaries, international theatre, music and media professionals have connected with cooperation partners of various sectors to encourage a broad, sustainable discourse about gender issues, which proves its growing international relevance through different ways of radicalisation as well as through the current #MeToo debate.
