The Lego News Show is a monthly childrens' Web series featuring clumsy anchor Dan Brickman and his team of journalists. For his news show, he reports all the cool stuff happening in the Lego Universe. This talk is about how we managed both technical and artistic aspects of a character-driven guerilla production and how we improved on both efficiency and quality for each episode.
Can Erduman is freelance character artist working worldwide both remotely and on-site. He is a graduate of the University of Applied Science in Mainz, Germany. After starting as a 3D generalist, he specialized in character animation, Rigging and sculpting to provide the full character package.
In 2010, he kick-started his career as a trainee at Pixomondo Frankfurt and is now working as a freelancer.
Besides Working in the 3D Industry, he also held an introduction to 3D and Character Animation course at the University of Applied Science in Mainz. He also developed three Digital Tutors (Pluralsight) courses around rigging and character animation inside Cinema 4D.
In 2012, he joined the beta test team at Maxon, providing input for Cinema 4d development while further developing his character animation skills at the iAnimate Workshop with his mentor, Dreamworks Animator, Manuel Aparicio.
In 2015 Can Erduman joined Fuel New Media as a Technical Supervisor and Animator to help create the Lego News Show internationals pipeline.
Today, while still freelancing, he develops skills at new fields such as sculpting in Zbrush by joining the 3D Character Workshop founded by former Disney Interactive Lead Artist Shane Olson.
