First look at ‘Project Myron’! An intense VR experience by Saxion (University of Applied Sciences), supported by innovation leaders Xsens, Manus VR, XMG and Virtual Dutch Men.
Project Myron is a collaboration between students from the study program CMGT (Creative Media and Game Technologies) of the Saxion University of Applied Sciences and technology leaders The Virtual Dutch Men, Xsens, Manus VR and XMG. In 5 months' time, the students' goal is to create an 8 player arena shooter experience, in which two teams of 4 players try to outplay each other.
Together with the MoCap suits of Xsens, the MoCap gloves of Manus VR, the backpack pc's of XMG and under the guidance of The Virtual Dutch Men this innovative project kicked off in early February 2017.
The name "Project Myron" comes from Myron W. Krueger, who is considered to be one of the first virtual and augmented reality researchers. With his project "Videoplace", the foundation for interactive virtual reality experiences was established. Project Myron is a tribute to this visionary VR pioneer.
