Program 2016

Philip Hunt

Aside from the role of Studio AKA's Creative Director, and with over 25 years of commercial production experience, Philip's diverse body of Directing work spans an eclectic range of animation projects, including the multi-award winning short film AH POOK IS HERE - an interpretation of recordings by the late William S. Burroughs -  and his adaptation and direction of the BAFTA winning LOST AND FOUND; a half hour adaptation of the award-winning children's book by Oliver Jeffers. Philip also is a visiting lecturer at the Animation Institute in Ludwigsburg, Germany, where he teaches story & idea development, and he also teaches an annual 'Finding Stories' course at the Pictoplasma academy in Berlin. Back in London, he is currently in ongoing development with his partners at AKA on the studio's next slate of projects.  

STUDIO AKA is a Multi BAFTA winning, Independent Animation Production studio.

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and MFG Baden-Wuerttemberg, taking place in cooperation with the VES Visual Effects Society and ACM SIGGRAPH, supported by the Animation Media Cluster Region Stuttgart (AMCRS), Autodesk, Backstage, Epic Games/Unreal Engine, Foundry, Mackevision and ScanlineVFX. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Days (APD), a joint venture with the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS).
