Chance Thomas is an American composer, audio designer and educater.  His current project, The VOID, captured the imagination of Hollywood's elite at the TED conference earlier this year, including luminaries like Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford.  Chance's work has underscored blockbuster commercial success and critical acclaim, including an Oscar, an Emmy, and billions of dollares in film and video game sales worldwide.  Game credits include James Cameron's Avatar, Peter Jackson's King Kong, Lord of the Rings Online and many more.  Animated film credits include The ChubbChubbs!, Lost Treasure Hunt, Inspire: The Chicago Spire Art Film and others. TV credits include Pawn Stars, The Bachelorette, America's Most Wanted, etc.

As an educator, Chance works with universities, colleges and conferences to help people navigate the intersection of music, technology and business.  He has served on advisory boards for the Game Developers Conference, the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, the Game Audio Network Guild, Full Sail University, Brigham Young University and the Musicians Institue of Hollywood.  His business interests range across studios, publishing and audio services, successfully spanning a career spanning more than 30 years.

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and MFG Baden-Wuerttemberg, taking place in cooperation with the VES Visual Effects Society and ACM SIGGRAPH. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Days (APD), a joint venture with the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS).
