Virtual Production Stage at FMX 2016: From Cinebox to Film Engine

Leading the way to real-time filmmaking, Film Engine alongside tech partners Ncam, OptiTrack, ARRI and AMD present the Virtual Production Stage at FMX 2016.
Attendees will be immersed shoulder to shoulder with industry pros in a virtual production stage, working with the same state-of-the-art tools used by Hollywood directors.
Discover Film Engine at this FMX premiere event, an innovative new real-time filmmaking platform designed to leverage virtual production and VR workflows.

About FilmEngine Technologies
Comprised of filmmakers, artists and developers on a self-imposed mission to empower digital content creators, FilmEngine’s sole focus is to develop and support the continuing development of an intuitive, pipeline-agnostic production tool optimized for virtual production workflows, leveraging real-time technology to facilitate tasks and create more opportunities for tomorrow’s increasing media content demands.
The Film Engine production tool will be premiered at FMX 2016.

DREAMSPACE, a EU funded research project that comprises seven partners, The Foundry, ncam, Stargate Germany, CreW, Saarland University, iMinds and Filmakademie, will be at FMX 2016 on the Film Engine Virtual Production Stage.
This venue is lead by FilmEngine and supported by OptriTrack, ncam, AMD, Arri and HP.
Dreamspace will showcase their latest research results demo at the Film Engine Virtual Production stage on:
Tuesday: 13:30 - 17:00 and Friday: 14:30 - 16:00.

VFX Supervisor Rob Legato will give a Virtual Production Masterclass on Thursday: 15:00 - 17:00.

Visitors will also have a chance to dive into Ken Perlin’s Holojam, a research project out of NYU’s Media Research Lab, focusing on the future of Virtual Reality:
Wednesday: 17:00-19:00, Thursday: 13:00-15:00, Friday: 16:00-18:00.

 


 

 

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and MFG Baden-Wuerttemberg, taking place in cooperation with the VES Visual Effects Society and ACM SIGGRAPH. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Days (APD), a joint venture with the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS).
