Fabian Erlinghäuser
Fabian has 15 years industry experience at the Academy-Award-nominated studio Cartoon Saloon, where he works as animation supervisor. He was 1st Assistant Director of animation on the upcoming feature film “Song Of The Sea”,which was nominated for multiple Annie Awards, a César; and the Academy Award. He oversaw the character animation for the film, which was spread over three studios: Cartoon Saloon in Ireland, 'Studio 352' in Luxembourg, and 'Nørlum' in Denmark. Fabian also worked with a small team of character posing artists to supply the animators with key storytelling poses for their respective scenes. As 1st assistant director he worked closely with director Tomm Moore on a daily basis to ensure the consistency of acting and draughtsmanship, and to keep all animators within the film's style. Before joinging Cartoon Saloon in 2000, Fabian graduated with 'Distinction' from the Don Bluth-related college BCFE in Dublin. His field of expertise at Cartoon Saloon covers the areas character animation, animation supervision and character posing on diverse projects such as feature films, short films, TV shows, and commercials. Fabian was also the animation supervisor of the Academy Award-nominated film 'The Secret Of Kells' and an integral part of the team which developed the film's animation style and character posing. Apart from Cartoon Saloon, Fabian annually teaches character animation at the “Animation Workshop” in Viborg, Denmark. illustrates childrens books for publishers such as Randomhouse; Lübbe ; Leiv; O’Brien Press and Egmont.

Cartoon Saloon studio has been nominated for an Academy Award® twice. Cartoon Saloon has just released its newest feature Film, Song of the Sea, a follow up to 'The Secret of Kells' ,which was nominated for an Academy Award in 2010. The OSCAR ® and Annie Award nominated film is currently enjoying theatrical success in France, Belgium, Denmark, Luxembourg, USA and Canada with a further worldwide release planned for later this year. Currently in development is a screen adaption of  the award-winning novel 'The Breadwinner', written by Deborah Ellis it will be directed by Nora Twomey and is due to start production in summer 2015. From award-winning short films such as 'From Darkness', 'Cúilín Dualach/Backwards Boy', 'Old Fangs', 'The Ledge End Of Phil', and 'Somewhere Down the Line', to TV series like Super RTL's 'Skunk FU!' and now 'Puffin Rock' (launched on RTEjr in Jan 2015 and to be broadcast worldwide later this year), Cartoon Saloon has carved a special place in the international animation industry. Concentrating the artistic skills, Cartoon Saloon continues to tell stories for the screen. The studio constantly aligns with artists and partners with whom we can grow and learn.

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and MFG Baden-Wuerttemberg, taking place in cooperation with the VES Visual Effects Society and ACM SIGGRAPH, supported by the Animation Media Cluster Region Stuttgart (AMCRS), Autodesk, Backstage, Epic Games/Unreal Engine, Foundry, Mackevision and ScanlineVFX. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Days (APD), a joint venture with the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS).
