Production rendering and simulation with Blender

In this workshop you will learn more about Blenders rendering and simulation capabilities. We will showcase improvements in these areas, that happened since last years FMX and will demonstrate production shots from Project Gooseberry. 

Thomas Dinges

Thomas Dinges , Software Developer, Blender Foundation,

Thomas Dinges learned about Blender and got into 3D at the age of 16. In 2009 he started working on Blender as a developer, helping create the new interface for the Blender 2.5x project. Since 2011 he is mainly working on the Cycles render engine. Thomas is the head of the Blender e.V., organizing the annual German conference BlenderDay.

Gottfried Hofmann

Gottfried Hofmann , Blender Foundation Certified Trainer, Blender Foundation,

Gottfried Hofmann is a Blender user since version 2.50. He held presentations and workshops at both the Blender Day in Germany and the official Blender Conference in Amsterdam. He is also a founding father of the Nuremberg Blender user group NuremBUG. His articles on Blender have been featured in Linux Pro Magazine, LinuxUser, Digital Production and c't.

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and MFG Baden-Wuerttemberg, taking place in cooperation with the VES Visual Effects Society and ACM SIGGRAPH. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Days (APD), a joint venture with the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS).
