Christopher Townsend has worked in the visual effects industry for over 20 years. For over a decade, he was an artist and supervisor at ILM on some of the most influential movies of our time, and in 2007 became a freelance visual effects supervisor. He worked on Journey to the Center of the Earth, the first ever stereoscopic motion picture shot and released digitally, Wolverine, Ninja Assassin, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief and Captain America: The First Avenger. He was nominated for an Academy Award for his work on Iron Man 3, and has just completed overseeing nearly 3000 shots on Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Paul Butterworth

Paul Butterworth, Visual Effects Supervisor, Animal Logic,

Paul Butterworth is one of Australia's most experienced Visual Effects Supervisors. His skills in the visual effects and design world encompass graphic design and illustration, concept development, on-set supervision and the highly-specialised art of matte painting.

As part of his lead role on Prometheus, Paul was on set during the filming of some key sequences he would work on, using the time alongside Ridley Scott to develop the concept designs of the signature 'Orrery' to Ridley's approval - a design that would eventually grace the cover of Cinefex.

Equally at home on set with the top directors or in front of a workstation, Paul is able to engender trusting relationships with all the project's stakeholders to develop concepts for characters, futuristic gadgets, ethereal effects and title sequences.  His artistic contributions and guidance have proven valuable for all films that have passed through his hands and that of his trusted teams.

Other than Prometheus, recent feature film credits include Iron Man 3, Thor¸ X-Men Origins The Painted Veil, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Avengers: Age of Ultron. Paul was also recently nominated for BAFTA Best Visual Effects and VES Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects-Driven Feature for Prometheus.

Now part of the Animal Logic family, Paul has over 20 years of industry experience, including numerous commercial directing credits for clients that include VW, Virgin and Visa. He is also a regular speaker on visual effects and design at conferences and festivals.

Established in 1991, Animal Logic is one of the world's most highly respected digital production studios, developing and producing award-winning design, animation and visual effects for the film and television industries.

Animal Logic’s film credits include The Lego® Movie, Unbroken, Walking with Dinosaurs: The Movie, The Great Gatsby, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, 300, Happy Feet and House of Flying Daggers to name a few. Animal Logic is currently in production on Chen Kaige’s, The Monk (2015), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), LEGO Ninjago (2016) and LEGO Batman (2017).
