Tom Jacomb

Tom is Managing Director of Double Negative’s newly launched Feature Animation Division. Tom has spent over 12 years as Associate Producer/Line Producer on full CG Animated Feature Films building two full feature studios, in addition to 6 years as Managing Director of post production animation and special FX companies – this includes Glassworks, the multi award winning 3D animation and special effects company.

Tom joins Double Negative from DreamWorks where he most recently produced Oscar nominated Puss in Boots (grossing over $580m in the worldwide box office and spawning a brand new franchise with a sequel already in the works) and the critically acclaimed Rise of the Guardians (grossing over $300M).

Founded in 1998 with a team of just 30, Double Negative (DNeg) has grown to become one of the industry's success stories and is now Europe's largest provider of visual effects for Film. The Company now operates from locations in London and Singapore to serve the global Film and Television community. Double Negative has received several Visual Effects Society awards for films such as Inception and Sherlock Holmes, BAFTA awards for Inception and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and an Academy Award for Inception.

Over the past 12 months, Double Negative has completed work on Fast & Furious 6, Captain Phillips, Rush, Man of Steel, The World’s End, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Thor: The Dark World and Cuban Fury. Shows currently in production include Transcendence, Godzilla, Jupiter Ascending, Interstellar, Ex Machina, In The Heart of the Sea, Exodus and Hercules.

2013 saw the formation of DNeg TV. A division to tailor DNeg's skills to the specific needs of the Television industry. The division is run by a handpicked team with over 50 combined years of noted success in TV VFX. Recently completed projects include Ridley Scott’s The Vatican for Sony Television and the BBC’s By Any Means and Death in Paradise. The team are currently working on a variety of projects including ITV’s Mr Selfridge.

2013 also saw the launch of Double Negative Films formed specifically to provide VFX support and investment to British-qualifying productions.

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and the MFG Baden-Wuerttemberg, taking place in cooperation with VES Visual Effects Society and ACM SIGGRAPH. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Day (APD), a joint venture with the Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (ITFS).
