Pam Marsden, Head of Production, Sony Pictures Animation

Pam Marsden is the head of production for Sony Pictures Animation, where she is responsible for planning, budgeting and supervising all projects on the studio’s slate. She also works extensively with individual show producers and their creative partners at Sony Pictures Imageworks.

Prior to her role as head of production, Marsden served as executive vice president of physical production and has been responsible for supervising all projects in production. Before that, Marsden produced Sony Pictures Animation's comedy hit features “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” and its sequel, “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.”

Before joining Sony Pictures Animation in 2005, Marsden produced the animated feature “Dinosaur” for Walt Disney Animation Studios, and the home entertainment feature “Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas” for Disneytoon Studios.

Marsden has worked as a production stage manager in Chicago and Off Broadway and also served as the managing director for the International Theatre Festival of Chicago. She is a native of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and her educational background includes a degree in theater arts from Kalamazoo College and post-graduate study at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and MFG Baden-Wuerttemberg, taking place in cooperation with the VES Visual Effects Society and ACM SIGGRAPH. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Days (APD), a joint venture with the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS).
