Cornelia Funke is coming to Stuttgart!


Germany's successful and popular author of children's and young adult fiction joins FMX.

Europe’s most influential conference on digital entertainment is proud to welcome Germany’s most successful and most popular author of children’s and young adult fiction to Stuttgart: Cornelia Funke, who became famous in Germany and beyond with her novel The Thief Lord, the young adult series Wild Chicks and the Inkheart trilogy. At FMX Funke introduces the app for the Mirrorworld series, together with Producer Andy Merkin (Mirada Studios). For the very first time, this app provides the users with a visually tangible concept of the world behind the mirror. The Mirrorworld series is going to comprise 5 installments, the first two books Reckless and Reckless - Fearless have already been published.

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and MFG Baden-Wuerttemberg, taking place in cooperation with the VES Visual Effects Society and ACM SIGGRAPH, supported by the Animation Media Cluster Region Stuttgart (AMCRS), Autodesk, Backstage, Epic Games/Unreal Engine, Foundry, Mackevision and ScanlineVFX. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Days (APD), a joint venture with the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS).
