Lila Hannou, VP of Creative Development and Strategy, Ellipse Animation

Lila Hannou is the VP of Creative Development and Strategy at Ellipse Animation, a leading European animation studio and subsidiary of Média-Participations. She joined Ellipse Animation in September 2021, where she spearheads creative strategy, international development, and storytelling initiatives.

She began her career at M6 Group in 2001 as a Marketing Research Analyst before moving into youth programming in 2006. Over nearly two decades, she held multiple leadership roles, including Director of Youth Programming for M6 Kid and later Director of Animation Co‑productions and Pre‑buys for M6 channels (M6, Gulli, Tiji, Canal J).

Hannou has contributed to the development of major international animated series such as Alvin and the Chipmunks, Paddington, and The Marsupilamis. Her work focuses on nurturing strong IPs, building bridges between publishing and audiovisual production, and expanding Ellipse Animation’s footprint across Europe.

Terry Kalagian, President ‑ Animation Kids & Family, Gaumont

Terry Kalagian is an accomplished entertainment executive with over two decades of experience spanning creative development, IP strategy, acquisitions, and co-productions across the global entertainment landscape. In June 2023, she was promoted to President of Global Animation & Family at Gaumont, where she is based in Paris. Prior to this role, Terry served as EVP of Creative Content U.S., operating from Los Angeles. She started her journey with Gaumont in early 2016.

Throughout her career, Terry has partnered with prestigious organizations such as Mattel, Marvel, Cartoon Network, Polygon Pictures, ADK (Asatsu-DK), Rainmaker Entertainment, and Blink Studios. At Gaumont, she has been instrumental in developing and producing high-profile animated titles, including the 2021 Peabody Award-winning Stillwater, an Apple TV+ series based on Jon J. Muth’s Zen books. The series also earned a Daytime Emmy® for Best Editing. Other notable projects include Do, Re & Mi, an animated musical series for Amazon Prime Video starring Kristen Bell; Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles for Netflix, adapted from Stan Sakai's beloved comic series; and High in the Clouds, an animated feature developed and produced with music icon Paul McCartney.

Jan Pinkava, Director & FMX Conference Chair, Animationsinstitut, Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg

Jan Pinkava has been a leader in animation storytelling for over thirty years.

At Pixar he wrote and directed 1997 Oscar-winning short film Geri's Game and was the creator and co-director of Pixar's Oscar-winning 2007 feature Ratatouille.

At Google, he was co-founder and Creative Director of the renowned Google Spotlight Stories project; working with leading technologists, artists and directors to create new forms of interactive storytelling for film, mobile and VR. The work won many prizes, including the first Emmy for outstanding innovation in interactive storytelling, and an Oscar nomination.

In June of 2023 Jan became Director of the Animationsinstitut Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, one of Europe’s leading schools for Animation, VFX and Interactive Media. He is learning German. Slowly.
