From initial script breakdown through to shoot, shot breakdowns, contracts, turnover, bidding, rebidding, change orders and cost reconciliation through to final picture delivery, take the journey of a vfx producer. Due to time, we’ll gloss over some rungs on this ladder, and delve more deeply into others while trying to leave enough time for questions afterwards.

Robin Saxen, VFX Producer

Robin Saxen is currently working as VFX Producer on Mission Impossible 8: The Final Reckoning for Paramount Studios. Robin has worked on all of the Missions since coming on as a consultant on M:I 5 in 2015. Intermixed with working with Chris McQuarrie on the Mission Franchise, Robin has also worked with Paul King as VFX Producer on Paddington I & II. Robin first started working directly with Paramount in 2011 on WWZ, Marc Forster.

She began working in VFX in 1994 at Pacific Title Digital. In 1998 she went to ILM where she worked on Star Wars: Episode 1MagnoliaThe Perfect Storm and Gangs of New York. In 2002 she left to go and work as Production Manager at Weta on Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.

In 2004 she moved to London where she worked as VFX Producer for Framestore and then Double Negative on multiple projects including Superman ReturnsThe Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, and Australia.
