The VFX of The Penguin

The HBO original series THE PENGUIN brings to life the next chapter of THE BATMAN universe, setting the stage for Oz Cobb to fill a power vacuum left in the city’s underworld, taking out anyone in his way. The dark world of Gotham City, and it's even darker inhabitants called for over 3000 VFX shots, from the breathtaking to the invisible. The team held an unwavering commitment for the VFX to support the storytelling, elevate our characters, all while building up the world around them.

Join The PENGUIN's Overall VFX Supervisor JOHNNY HAN and Accenture Song VFX Supervisor EMANUEL FUCHS for a special in depth look of the VFX. We’ll look at exploding sea walls, unstoppable floods, ominous sweeping cityscapes, heightened shootouts with advanced interacting on-set lighting techniques, and more. We’ll explore how they were designed to completely immerse viewers in the world of Gotham City, and viscerally affect viewers to their emotional cores.
