Let’s CopyCat: Mastering Machine Learning for Compositing

Video on demand

In the rapidly evolving landscape of visual effects, the integration of machine learning technology represents a major shift, offering new possibilities for creativity and efficiency.

Join acclaimed VFX Supervisor Victor Perez for a demo of how Nuke’s machine learning tool, CopyCat, is being used for the upcoming Naples to New York, directed by Academy Award winner Gabriele Salvatores.

Tailored towards VFX artists, compositors, and technical directors, this workshop will delve into the artist’s process of using CopyCat for machine learning applications within Nuke. This includes training neural networks to undertake complex visual tasks, such as creating detailed mattes, enhancing image quality, or automating repetitive compositing tasks.

The masterclass will detail how these machine learning tools are not just theoretical advancements but practical assets that significantly reduce production time, increase accuracy, and open new creative avenues.

The session aims to demystify the technology behind CopyCat, offering a hands-on understanding of how to train and apply neural networks effectively within Nuke’s ecosystem.
