Matthias Buehler graduated from ETH Zurich (MSc Arch ETH), has worked in landscape architecture, architectural visualization and then has been part of the CityEngine development team for almost 5 years. He has a profound knowledge of 3D Modeling, Rendering, Visualization, Digital Sets and VFX in general. He has been the CityEngine Tech Support Lead, has hosted countless international presentations, workshops and trainings. In the field of 3D Urban Design, 3D Geodesign, 3D Facility Management and Master Planning, he has designed key workflows and pipelines. He was responsible for CityEngine services, consulting, training, procedural city modeling, custom CGA rule development and advanced visualization. At Scanline VFX, a high end Visual Effects vendor, he worked in the creation of 3D landscapes and cities for film, on the film 'Independence Day Resurgence'. Matthias founded vrbn solutions (say 'urban') as a consultancy and service provider to push 3D design and content creation technologies in multiple sectors, such as Games, VFX, Architecture and XR.
Taisha holds degrees in Geomatic Engineering and Arts from the University of Melbourne, as well as an MBA from RWTH Aachen/University of St. Gallen focusing on technology and innovation. Taisha works as a 3D Technology Evangelist out of the Esri R&D Center in Zürich and is interested in all things related to technology, sustainability, art and the entertainment industry.
Simon Haegler is a software developer in the field of computer graphics, specialized in procedural modeling. He has a background in electrical engineering (MSc ETH Zurich), general software development (C++, Java, multiple scripting languages, build environments) and expert knowledge in Linux systems. Before joining Esri in 2011, he was a founding member of Procedural Inc, the inventors of CityEngine. His main interest currently lies in the application of procedural 3d modeling techniques in the media and entertainment industry, i.e. digital set building and production pipeline tools.
Christian Iten is a Senior Product Designer and Product Owner at the ESRI R&D Center in Zurich.
Benjamin Neukom is a software developer in the XR and CityEngine team at the Esri R&D Center in Zurich. He has joined Esri in 2017 after completing his master's degree in computer science at FHNW. His main interests lie in VR, computer graphics and procedural content generation in game engines.
Dominik is the Director for global business development 3D & Smart Cities at Esri Inc. in Redlands (CA). He works with global entertainment companies like Pixar, Scanline VFX, Weta, or Walt Disney Animation. Dominik is a Top 100 Digital Shaper and was a co-founder of Procedural Inc., the maker of the software CityEngine, which was acquired by Esri.
