Making-Of "L'Artista" / Rokoko Smartsuit Pro for commercials
We had the pleasure to produce the animated short L'Artista for Maxon to showcase the new character tools in Cinema 4D R23.
Being freelancers who share the same office space we had to work like a studio to cover all the departments from sculpting, rigging and animation to lighting, rendering and compositing. Can will talk about all the character related topics from sculpting and rigging to animation. Andi continues on how he used lightpasses in Redshift to create the final look of the film in comp. As a bonus feature Can recaps his first year using a Rokoko Smartsuit Pro for commercial projects.
Can Erduman, Character Artist and Director
Can Erduman is a freelance senior character artist and director working worldwide.
Bringing characters to life and telling interesting stories is his great passion and motivation.
Spreading beautiful pixels through the fast-paced advertisement landscape of our industry.
With over a decade of work experience as a freelancer in advertisement, he knows both the technical and artistic facets that come along in that special field.
He is part of the creative collective freelance office space “Büro Feuerwache”
Andi Wenzel, visual effects artist
Andi is a freelance visual effects artist based in Mainz/Germany working for a variety of clients in the advertising and film industry worldwide. In 2016, he graduated as Master of Arts in Media Design.
In every project, he combines his love for cinematography with CGI - always with an eye for composition and storytelling. Having passion for both the artistic and the technical part of the job, he is constantly trying to improve and learn new techniques. While specialising in lighting, shading and compositing he understands himself as CG generalist with an open mind for all kinds of challenges.
One of the best parts of his job is the great work environment between friends and colleagues in the shared office space of the creative collective “Büro Feuerwache”.
