PAW Patrol : The Movie, from the series to the feature animation

PAW Patrol : The Movie brought for the first time the world-renowed puppies to the big screen and took viewers on an emotional journey into a cinematic experience, whether in the script or in the animation. Based on the hugely popular license, it was essential that the characters and animation remained true to the series, but with some significant tweaks to make it look more cinematic.

Julie Marouzé, Production Manager, Mikros Animation

Julie Marouze has been in the entertainment industry for 7 years. After a first experience in an advertising agency, she moved to VFX production which gave her the opportunity to work on large-budget feature films and series for the greatest international studios. Some of her credits include Ghost in the Shell, King Arthur, See and Detective Pikachu.

In 2019, she joined Mikros Animation as a Production Manager on PAW Patrol: The Movie, produced by Spin Master Entertainment. Since then she has immersed herself in the PAW Patrol universe, and was in charge of managing the previz, animation, crowd and FX departments on the feature animation.

Adrien Montero, Modeling Supervisor, Mikros Animation

Adrien Montero has been working in the animation industry for almost 20 years and has developed a strong experience in character modeling.

During his international career that led him from France to Luxembourg and now Canada, he had the opportunity to work a very large number of animated TV-series and feature animation at world-renowned studios, demonstrating his ability to adapt to the most demanding productions in very diverse creative styles. Amongst his credits, Adrien notably worked on award-winning Despicable Me, The Lorax, Minions, The Mitchells vs The Machines, Spiderman into the Spider-verse, Hotel Transylvania 2.

In 2018, he joined Mikros Animation in Montreal as Character Modeling Supervisor on VES-nominated The SpongeBob Movie : Sponge on The Run. Since then, Adrien has been instrumental on PAW Patrol : The Movie, The Tiger’s Apprentice and is currently working on another feature animation.

 

Andreas Spanring, Production Manager, Mikros Animation

Andreas (Andy) Spanring has always been passionate about animation. While working in the production department M2 Entertainment in London, he was lucky enough to be able to indulge his childhood passion for Lego by working in the production department of some of Lego’s animated TV-series .

In 2019 Andy moved to Canada and joined Mikros Animation to work on PAW Patrol: The Movie. On this feature animation, he oversaw the asset build process, as well as managing departments in between Animation and Lighting. He has an unhealthy passion for spreadsheets and satisfies his creative urges by crafting schedules with increasingly complicated colour schemes that he uses on an everyday basis in his current role of co-line producer for feature animation at Mikros Animation.

 

Anthony Stedman, Character Surfacing Supervisor, Mikros Animation

Anthony Stedman has been in the entertainment industry for ten years and has developed his specialization in texturing and surfacing.

After a three-year experience at various animation studios in France, his great interest in art and cinema took him to Canada where he developed a strong experience of the film industry, joining the visual effect teams of international productions such as Ghost In The Shell, Fantastic Beast 2 or The Kid Who Would Be King amongst many others.

In 2019, he had the opportunity to come back to his initial passion for animation at Mikros Animation, creating textures for the main characters of the VES-nominated The SpongeBob Movie : Sponge on the Run, directed by Tim Hill and produced by Paramount Animation. He was also in charge of character texturing on PAW Patrol : The Movie, the first CG feature-length production for the world-renowned franchise for Spin Master Entertainment. He is currently working on his third movie at the studio as a character surfacing supervisor.
