Business Platform for the International Animation Industry

Animation Production Days (APD), a joint venture of Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) and FMX – Film & Media Exchange, is the most important co-production and financing market for animation in Germany. It brings together co-production, financing and distribution partners for animation projects in efficient one-to-one discussions and, with the APD Conference, offers focused debates and lectures on current challenges in the industry.
The curated business platform for the European and international animation industry takes place for the 19th time in 2025. Animation producers from around 20 countries will present their animation projects from the features, series, games, cross- and extended reality (VR, AR, MR) sectors to potential co-production partners, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, funders and investors in a series of preplanned one-to-one meetings. Around 50 projects are selected each year from a constantly growing number of submissions for presentation at APD, many of them at an early stage of development.
Eight out of the 50 projects will come from young European producer/creator teams selected for the “APD Talent Programme”. The aim is to bring the newcomers together with established experts in the industry and thus facilitate their first steps in the international market. Additional networking events with a welcoming atmosphere offer accredited APD attendees the opportunity to continue their discussions and to deepen new contacts in a relaxed setting.
The APD Conference is an integral part of the programme and focuses on discussing current trends and challenges in the industry.
