The Hitchhiker's Guide to Fan-Projects

Ever since the early days of fan culture, fans have shown their appreciation in various creative ways, generating a wealth of new media content & projects, most of the time with only the bare minimum of resources. In today's world of media & technology, generating & distributing fan-projects is as easy as it can be, and leading to some impressive work;
but also awakening new forms of danger that lurk in the shadows...

In this lecture, vfx artist Andreas Feix will give an insight into the Good, the Bad & the Oddities of fan-projects - by exploring their history, their diversity as well as the legal challenges that today's fans have to overcome, but are not alone to deal with.
