Industry Survival Workshop - Get ready to break into Games, Film or Visual Effects

Industry Survival Workshop

You trained hard, you are skilled, and now you want to go places! But how is life in VFX, and what does it take to break into the industry? Let’s find answers and get prepared to make the move successfully!

In this workshop our longtime lecturer Philipp Kratzer will tell you what to look out for when starting your career in the VFX industry and will give you helpful tips for your future work.

Philipp Kratzer, VFX Freelancer, SAE Institute

I‘m a passionate Austrian VFX Freelancer specializing as FX TD / CFX TD and VFX-Instructor based in Munich, working on feature film and TV-series including "Altered Carbon", for which I was honored with a VES-Award in February 2019. My strength lies in procedural FX / CFX simulation, HDA toolbuilding and lighting / shading / rendering – supported by profound teamspirit, problem-solving and good communication-abilities.    I started teaching basic and advanced VFX courses (at SAE Institute Germany) in 2014, and it quickly grew into a passion of mine. I am convinced that professional work and teaching has to go hand in hand, because it allows to bring profound experience and production-proven workflows directly to the classroom. My goal is to prepare students in the best possible way for this amazing, but also demanding industry.
