A Guide to your FMX 2021 experience
To ensure you get the most out of your visit to FMX’s virtual edition, we put together a handy guide for you with information on how to use our event platform and connect with other attendees and speakers.

Get ready for FMX 2021
Register on the event platform
After you have purchased a ticket, we will send a link to the event platform to you. When you'll visit the event platform for the first time, you will be asked to register with the e-mail address you provided when purchasing your ticket and set a password.

Edit your profile
After logging in, please edit your profile in the menu at the top right corner of your browser window. Your profile will be visible to all other attendees of FMX 2021 on the sidebar under the tab “Attendees”. To enhance your FMX experience, we recommend editing your profile as detailed as possible.
Select your program favourites
By clicking the tab "Schedule" or "Program list" on the sidebar, you will find the program of FMX 2021. You can click on each session to get detailed information about the presentation/ live Q&A and their speakers.
Plan your own conference schedule by clicking "Add to your schedule". Your personal FMX schedule can be viewed in the menu at the top right corner of the event platform by selecting the option “Personal Program”.

Attend FMX 2021
One of the most exciting changes to FMX is that most sessions now consists of a presentation and a live Q&A and Exchange!
From morning to night, you will have the opportunity to engage in a live exchange with speakers and other attendees to discuss the program.

How to watch presentations
All FMX presentations and live Q&A will be become available for streaming at the scheduled time and can then be accessed via the tab “Schedule” or "Program List" by clicking on the presentation you would like to watch. After the scheduled time of the program has passed, presentations will stay available until July 2021.
However, there will be exclusive presentations that will only be streamed during FMX from May 4-6.
Presentations and panels come with a chat feature to set the mood for the following live Q&A. The chat will give you the opportunity to interact with other participants and discuss the presentation while watching it.
Join the live Q&A
For taking part in the live Q&A after the presentations and panels, please go to the sidebar tab "Schedule" or "Program List" and choose the Q&A you would like to watch. In the schedule, every live Q&A (and live presentation) will have a red label that says "LIVE".
You then will be prompted to either download or launch Zoom. Within the provided Zoom room, you are able to ask your questions. Please make sure to use the Q&A feature for that. If you would like to join the conversation with your camera and audio turned on, feel free to use the "Raise hand" feature. The host will then enable both your camera and microphone.

How to Connect with others at FMX 2021
A virtual conference may not be the same as a physical event, still, FMX ensures a deep level of interaction for all participants at FMX 2021. There are several ways to truly interact with other media creators from around the globe and share your experiences:
Connect with other Attendees
Live Q&A and Chat
Presentations and panels come with a chat feature to set the mood for the following live Q&A. The chat will give you the opportunity to interact with other participants and discuss the presentation while watching it.
The following live Q&A are where you get to ask your questions. To encourage everyone to connect in the virtual sphere almost as closely as in the physical world, your are able to join FMX speakers and panellists in Zoom rooms via video or audio chat. As your camera and microphone will be initially turned off, feel free to use the "Raise hand" feature. The host will then enable both your camera and microphone. If you'd rather just ask your questions off camera, you are very welcome to use the Q&A feature for that.
Send Messages and Schedule a Meeting
Furthermore, you can exchange messages and arrange video meetings with each participant of FMX 2021. Under the sidebar tab “Attendees”, you find profiles of all visitors of this year’s conference. If you click on someone’s profile, you can “Send a Message” to the attendee or “Schedule a Meeting” with the person.
Your “Messages” can be viewed in the menu at the top right corner of your browser window. Your scheduled meetings appear in your “Personal Program”. When an attendee messages or requests a meeting with you, you receive an e-mail. If you do not wish to receive those notifications e-mails, change your “Preferences” in the menu at the top right corner of your browser window. You can also prevent getting any messages or meeting invites from other FMX participants. Please note, messaging and meeting options are only available during the conference, May 4-6.
Community Chat
Do you want to discuss and share experiences, projects, tools, services, challenges, or any other matters with FMX’s audience? Feel free to join the “Community Chat” at the Homepage of FMX’s virtual conference platform.

FAQ Event Platform
How do I watch a presentation?
You can find all sessions under "Schedule" or "Program List". Click the session you'd like to watch and start the video. Please note: Sessions will be released on their scheduled time. Before that, the video won't be available yet.

Will you make the presentations available after they have taken place?
Yes, presentations will be available to ticket holders via video on demand right after their scheduled time during FMX. Please note: There will be exclusive presentations available only at FMX from May 4-6, 2021.
Are there presentations that are only available for a limited amount of time?

Will the Q&A be available after FMX 2021?
No, we won’t record the Q&A since we want them to be an intimate space for our community to discuss the presentations.
I can't see the session chats on the right. What should I do?
Please refresh your browser and wait for a couple of seconds.
A session didn't work using Safari. What should I do?
There are two ways that might solve the problem:
1. Please clear your browser cache.
2. Switch to another browser like Chrome.
