Jan Philip Cramer, Head of Animation, Animation Director, Digital Domain

Jan Philip Cramer has packed impressive credits into his 12-year career. Starting as a Character Animator at Sony Imageworks in 2005, he contributed to Ghost Rider and Spider-Man 3. After a stint at Weta Digital as an Animation Lead & Animation Supervisor, Phil joined Digital Domain in 2010 as Animation Director. Phil has supervised animation for several blockbuster feature films including Jack the Giant Slayer, Ender’s Game, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Pixels, Independence Day: Resurgence, Deadpool and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Phil recently created Thanos for Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War. Since 2014, Phil has been overseeing Digital Domain’s Animation Department as Head of Animation while continuing his work as an Animation Director. Phil is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Visual Effects Society. He holds a B.F.A Degree from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, which recognized him with its Emerging Artist Alumni Award in 2011.

FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Days (APD), a joint venture with the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS).
