Animafest Zagreb

World Festival of Animated Film – Animafest Zagreb, established in 1972, is one of most important and the second oldest film festival in the world completely dedicated to animation. Held every year in June in Croatia´s capital city Zagreb, Animafest brings the best of animation from all over the world, fostering rich tradition and presenting latest trends through 350 films, presentations, exhibitions, lectures and workshops.

animago AWARD

October 25 – 26, 2018, Munich, Germany

For more than 20 years the animago AWARD has been one of the most important international competitions covering the entire spectrum of 3d animation, visual effects, visualization and design.

Digital artists from 58 different nations have competed in the contest last year and have submitted approximately 1.000 productions. (animations for film/TV, commercials, shorts & industrial productions as well as ambitious homemade pictures & movies). Thanks to its industry-wide acceptance and reputation, the two-day animago AWARD & CONFERENCE has evolved into a high-profile business event in Germany, a combination of the animago AWARD ceremony, the trade exhibition and an international and first-class conference program.

Ars Electronica

Ars Electronica made its debut on September 18, 1979. This festival of art, technology and society spotlighted the emerging Digital Revolution. Within a few years, Ars Electronica developed into one of the world’s foremost media art festivals. For more than three decades now, this world-renowned event has provided an annual setting for artistic and scientific encounters with social and cultural phenomena that are the upshot of technological change. Symposia, exhibitions, performances and interventions carry these inquiries beyond the confines of conventional conference spaces and cultural venues and take them out into the public sphere and throughout the cityscape.

Encounters Bristol International Film Festival

Fantoche is Switzerland’s biggest animation film festival. Fantoche is both a festival for the general public and a meeting place for the film and creative industries in equal measure. It comprises an international and a national short film competition, a carefully chosen selection of animated feature films, its own programme slots for innovative computer games, themes with in-depth insights into the medium of animation and games, a multifaceted programme for children and young people and student groups as well as a diverse offering of lectures, panel discussions, presentations and exhibitions. Fantoche has a particular interest in game design and the interfaces where games meet animated film technology.

GLAS Animation Festival

KLIK Amsterdam Animation Festival

KLIK Amsterdam Animation Festival is an annual celebration of all things animated. KLIK likes to showcase animation in all of its shapes and sizes, giving a platform to animated feature films, shorts, commercials, video games, virtual reality and installations. KLIK brings its passion and knowledge of quality animation to a wide audience with an annual festival in Amsterdam, and other exciting activities happening in its wake. The 11th edition will be hosted 9-14 October 2018 at EYE Filmmuseum, Amsterdam. For last year’s international competition KLIK received over 1975 entries from more than 80 countries.

Laval Virtual

London International Animation Festival 2018

The London International Animation Festival (LIAF) proudly showcases the whole spectrum of creative animation, showing that animation is for everyone. Founded in 2003, LIAF aims to dispel the popular misconception that animation is just cartoons for kids by screening the broadest possible range of intelligent, entertaining and provocative current films on offer from all around the world as well as retrospectives and specialised sessions from countries and animators who don't normally elicit such attention. Our annual 10-day Festival includes gala premieres, retrospectives, Q&A's with filmmakers, workshops, audience voting, and the Best of the Festival screening.

The 11th ACM SIGGRAPH Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques in Asia will take place in Tokyo, Japan at Tokyo International Forum from 04 to 07 December 2018. The annual event, which rotates around the Asian region, attracts over 7,000 industry leaders and computer graphics and interactive techniques professionals in business, education, art and technology to explore the newest technologies, state-of-the-art products and innovative services. Conference Programs include the Computer Animation Festival, Courses, Emerging Technologies, Posters, Technical Briefs, Technical Papers and Workshops. Alongside the 4-day Conference, there will also be a 3-day exhibition held from 05 – 07 December, showcasing products and services from various sectors related to the computer graphics and interactive technologies sector. Paris ACM SIGGRAPH is the French Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH, the Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques. Every year, Paris ACM SIGGRAPH organizes approximately 20 events to promote the SIGGRAPH conference, French companies, research labs and schools working in the computer graphics field.


FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and MFG Baden-Wuerttemberg. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by Animationsinstitut,
hosting the Animation Production Days (APD), a joint venture with the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS).
