William Sargent, CEO and Founder, Framestore

During that time the company has worked on all eight of the Harry Potter films, Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity, James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Paul King’s Paddington, to name just a few. William has also Partnered and Executive Produced The Tale of Despereaux, Harry Brown, Heartless, Me and Orson Welles and UTZ, as well as Spitting Image and The Florentine Intermedi. Equally at home in Hollywood and government, he was Permanent Secretary, Regulatory Reform, at the Cabinet Office, Board Director of HM Treasury and a fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts. He was knighted by the Queen in 2008. The company’s highly creative reputation is a reflection of his continued ambition and expectations for Framestore. His numerous interests include: football, cricket, rugby, architecture, wine, world travel and modern art.

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and MFG Baden-Wuerttemberg, taking place in cooperation with the VES Visual Effects Society and ACM SIGGRAPH. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Days (APD), a joint venture with the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS).
