Tobias Schwarz, Story Artist

Tobias Schwarz has a BA in Visual Communication from the University of Arts Berlin and studied Animation at Bellyfermot, Dublin, the European Partner School to the Sheridan College Canada. Previously to his role as story artist, he was a classical character animator and worked on several award-winning features for the Walt Disney Company and Fox Animation Studios. Additionally he has worked for Bardel and Wild Brain…. Through his strong interest not just in drawing but in story telling too, he has over the years migrated into storyboarding. Nowadays he works as creative consultant and story artist for European productions such as Lego and NWave. With more than 20 years of industry experience, he has made it his task to mentor coming generations and improve understanding on the subject. He is a guest lecturer at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg and considers himself a student of story structure and character development.

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and MFG Baden-Wuerttemberg. taking place in cooperation with ACM Siggraph. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Days (APD), a joint venture with the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS).
