Vince Baertsoen, Head of 3D, The Mill

Vince Baertsoen is Head of CG at The Mill’s New York studio where he is responsible of over 40 CG artists, including CG Supervisors, CG leads, TDs, Animators, Lighters, Modelers, Matte Painters and Generalists.

He is heavily involved in the technical direction across the whole Mill Group and has developed tools such as feather, muscle, skin and crowd systems.

Vince is also connecting all CG specialists across the Mill Group to unify the pipeline and workflow in all Mill offices, and is helping implement emerging technologies, such as VR, AR and realtime and interactive processes.

Vince supervised animation and VFX on VES Award and Gold Cannes Lion winning PETA ‘98%Human,’ VES nominated Johnny Walker ‘Rock Giant,’ Hallmark’s ‘Motherbird,' as well as hundreds of other high profile jobs over the past 10 years.

He had collaborated with filmmakers such as Fredrik Bond, Peter Thwaites, Chris Cunningham, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Pleix, to name a few, and agencies including Droga5, BBDO, Ogilvy, Leo Burnett, BBH and TBWA.

Vince has been Board Member of VES New York and helped strengthen the VFX community in the New York area since 2013.

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and MFG Baden-Wuerttemberg. taking place in cooperation with ACM Siggraph. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Days (APD), a joint venture with the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS).
