Gilles Gaillard, Managing Director, Mikros Image

A graduate from the Ecole Nationale Louis Lumière in Paris (film and photography), Gilles Gaillard has always been passionate about the power of the image. He began his career as a freelance artist creating artwork for TV channels such as Canal Plus and Game One. He joined Mikros Image in 1999, where he was in charge of the “digital cinema” department for over five years, supervising the development of tools to implement films on digital media assets. In this position, Gilles Gaillard contributed to feature film projects for French directors from Robert Guediguian to Cedric Klapisch, among others. He was appointed as Mikros Image’s Managing Director in 2008. His focus since has been to identify key development objectives to strengthen Mikros image’s relationship with its customers, develop new partnerships and enhance the technical skills necessary to build a community of experts. Gaillard’s vision is to focus on the human skills as the heart of company, to better manage the many creative and technical challenges faced in the fields of Film & Advertising.

FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and MFG Baden-Wuerttemberg, taking place in cooperation with the VES Visual Effects Society and ACM SIGGRAPH, supported by the Animation Media Cluster Region Stuttgart (AMCRS), Autodesk, Backstage, Epic Games/Unreal Engine, Foundry, Mackevision and ScanlineVFX. FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by Animationsinstitut, hosting the Animation Production Days (APD), a joint venture with the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS).
