What is FMX?
FMX Conference on Animation, Effects, Games and Interactive Media is a European conference on the creation, production and distribution of digital entertainment and interactive visualization in design, industry and research. Every year it is held in Stuttgart, Germany in the beginning of May.
As a community-based event, the aim is to provide a space where experiences can be exchanged, innovative approaches discussed and ideas multiplied. The conference’s binding theme is the convergence of film, television, computers, consoles and mobile devices.
Artists, specialists, scientists, producers and other key people from all over the world present new projects, developments and opportunities in our Conference, at the Trade Floor, in Workshops, in the Recruting or Education section, our Screenings or Events.
FMX is a non-profit event by
Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by the
Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction. It is funded by the
Ministry of State and the
Ministry of Economics Baden-Wuerttemberg,
MFG Baden-Wuerttemberg Public Film Fund & Public Innovation Agency for Information Technology and Media, and the
FFA German Federal Film Board.
It was initiated as an event for students labeled "Film and Media Exchange" (FMX) in 1994 and was supposed to take place every two years. Since 1996 it is an annual event which makes FMX 2010 the 15th edition.
