Deutsche Telekom ECHTZEIT Lounge and Symposium

ECHTZEIT developers no longer just design surfaces - they shape processes. They fuse the traditional roles of designers, engineers, programmers and artists into one vibrant field of convergence and experimentation. Real-time product development means no gap between prototyping and real product rollout. Therefore there is the need for new framework concepts.

As an open space the ECHTZEIT lounge offers not only a cutting edge programme, but in the same time a place to meet and discuss. You are cordially invited to pass by and meet with experts of future development processes in person, even when there is no presentation scheduled.

Deutsche Telekom presents the ECHTZEIT lounge in partnership with the Faculty of Design, University of Applied Sciences, Augsburg. It is curated by Prof. Robert Rose, who teaches Time Based Design in Augsburg.

This partnership establishes an interdisciplinary communication spot to connect the ECHTZEIT community and offers a direct access for young academics to one of the world’s leading providers of telecommunications and information technology services.

Deutsche Telekom Product Design
The transformation from a technology driven to a consumer centric approach requires new skills and excellent people, who will love the opportunity of shaping the future with us. Part of the future developments will be to implement real-time product development on real platforms. These activities are concentrated around T-Gallery which is the forum for the future of Deutsche Telekom. Here is where we consolidate data, trend information and concepts of the future. The T-Gallery has the opportunity to bring together experts from product, technology research and all design disciplines on future technologies.

With all theses designers our target is to create a real and real-time experience on non-simulated and therefore non-constrained environment to evaluate the superior user experience with simplicity and fun for the future.

The Faculty of Design, University of Applied Sciences, Augsburg
Any style, any story... the Faculty of Design in Augsburg pursues media projects that defy the established classifications. Animation is a vital part of that challenging programme. Therein, Echtzeit – or real-time – is of increasing importance. Augsburg is brimming with ambitious projects and has established itself as a vibrant centre of experimental media thanks to a philosophy of hands-on collaboration. Two exceptional courses of studies - interactive media and interactive media systems - are organized as a fruitful collaboration with the Faculty of Computer Science.
